AP Literature & Composition
A rigorous course for seniors who have been on the honors English track and wish to take the AP Literature and Composition exam (and possibly the AP Language and Composition exam as well) in May. This course engages students in careful reading and critical analysis of fiction, poetry and drama as well as honing college level writing skills.

Grammar & Composition
Grades 9-12. This course is designed to help students develop grammar, usage, mechanics, and spelling skills as a basis for improving overall writing skills.

Creative Writing
Grades 9-12. In this course, students develop and expand their creative writing skills by composing original poems, prose, essays and visual forms.

Journalism I & II
Grades 10-12. These courses are semester long laboratory classes that deal with all aspects of newspaper production and other forms of journalistic writing and production, including web design and production. Students enrolled in these courses publish the school newspaper, The Badger Pause.

Journalism III- Editor Position
Grades 11-12 by approval only. This course is a continuation of Journalism I and II for students who have taken at least a year of Journalism and who have been invited and trained to take on a position as editor of the publication(s) . This course entails a great deal of responsibility, not only writing for the publication, but also editing, leading meetings, and overseeing layout and design.

Grades 10-12. This courses approaches films with the knowledge that they are prepared texts, designed and orchestrated to create effects, raise issues, and evoke responses.
